Crypto arbitrage calculator

Enter prices on two exchanges, fees and the amount to see the net profit and the amount at which the trade breaks even.

Buying and selling on one exchange: the taker fee comes off the buy and off the proceeds. For a trade between exchanges with a withdrawal, use the Arbitrage between exchanges tab.

Type the buy price, the sell price and the amount.

How it counts

Trade profit

Coins bought = amount × (1 − buy fee) / buy price; proceeds = coins × sell price × (1 − sell fee); profit = proceeds − amount. The break-even sell price = buy price / ((1 − buy fee) × (1 − sell fee)): at 0.1% fees the price must rise about 0.2%.

Arbitrage between exchanges

The buy is at the first exchange's ask, and the taker fee comes off what you buy: coins = amount × (1 − buy fee) / ask.

The withdrawal fee is a fixed number of coins, whatever the amount. What arrives on the second exchange is the coins bought minus that fee.

The sell is at the second exchange's bid, and the taker fee comes off the proceeds: proceeds = coins arrived × bid × (1 − sell fee). Profit = proceeds − amount.

Trading fees grow with the amount while the withdrawal costs the same, so every route has a break-even amount: below it the transfer eats the profit. When the spread after trading fees is not positive, no amount pays.

Example: 1,000 USDT, ask 1.000, bid 1.012, taker fees of 0.1% each, a withdrawal of 1 coin. You buy 999.00 coins, sell for 1,008.97 USDT and keep 8.97 USDT. The trade pays from 101.33 USDT.

The main result takes one price for the whole amount. On a real order book a large order eats several levels at a worse average price. So when the engine is following this pair of exchanges, the calculator walks both books for your amount and shows the average prices, the slippage and the size past which the trade stops paying.

FAQ

How do you calculate crypto trading profit?
Coins bought = amount × (1 − buy fee) / buy price; proceeds = coins × sell price × (1 − sell fee); profit = proceeds − amount. The Trade profit tab does it at once.
At what price do I break even?
The break-even sell price = buy price / ((1 − buy fee) × (1 − sell fee)). At 0.1% fees the price must rise about 0.2%; the calculator shows it in the result.
Where do the fees come from?
Your own fees when you set them in the settings or connected an exchange key; otherwise the standard taker fee without VIP discounts. Type any of them in: the result updates at once.
Why is the profit smaller than the spread?
The price spread is before fees. The buy fee, the sell fee and the withdrawal, valued at the sell price, all come off it.
What is the break-even amount?
The smallest amount whose proceeds cover the withdrawal fee: the withdrawal's cost at the sell price divided by the route's return after trading fees.
