How KuCoin calculates funding
KuCoin (since July 2026): F = clamp[(P + clamp(I − P, −0.05%, 0.05%)) / (8 / N), cap, floor], the cap and floor being ±0.75 × (minimum initial − minimum maintenance margin). The base interest I is 0% on stock-index and some commodity perpetuals since September 2026, so their rate follows the premium alone.

Routes with a KuCoin perpetual on one leg: long where funding is lower, short where it is higher. “Funding per 8 h” is what the pair earns at the current rates (the short's rate minus the long's), before fees and before the rates move. “Entry spread” is the legs' price gap after trading fees.
