Crypto profit calculator

The net profit of a coin trade after fees: the buy price, the sell price, the amount and the taker fees. Buying and selling on one exchange; for arbitrage between exchanges, with a withdrawal and the order books, there is a calculator of its own.

Buying and selling on one exchange: the taker fee comes off the buy and off the proceeds. For a trade between exchanges with a withdrawal, use the Arbitrage between exchanges tab.

Result

Type the buy price, the sell price and the amount.

How it counts

Coins bought = amount × (1 − buy fee) / buy price. The taker fee comes off the buy, so slightly fewer coins arrive than amount / price.

Proceeds = coins × sell price × (1 − sell fee). Profit = proceeds − amount; as a percentage, it is the share of the amount.

The break-even sell price = buy price / ((1 − buy fee) × (1 − sell fee)): at 0.1% fees the price must rise about 0.2% for the trade to come out even.

Example: 1,000 USDT, bought at 100.00 and sold at 110.00, taker fees of 0.1% each. You buy 9.99 coins, sell for 1,097.80 USDT and keep 97.80 USDT. The break-even sell price is 100.2003.

The result takes one price for the whole amount: no slippage on the order book, no funding, no taxes. The default fee is 0.1%; type your own.

FAQ

How do you calculate crypto trading profit?
Coins bought = amount × (1 − buy fee) / buy price; proceeds = coins × sell price × (1 − sell fee); profit = proceeds − amount. The calculator does it at once and shows the profit in dollars and as a percentage.
At what price do I break even?
The break-even sell price = buy price / ((1 − buy fee) × (1 − sell fee)). At 0.1% fees the price must rise about 0.2%; the calculator shows it in the result.
Which fee should I type in?
Your exchange's taker fee: most exchanges start at about 0.1% a trade. If you trade with limit orders, the maker rate applies; the buy and sell fee fields are independent.
How is this different from the arbitrage calculator?
Here you buy and sell on one exchange, so there is no withdrawal fee and no transfer network. For a price gap between two exchanges with coins moved between them, use the arbitrage calculator: it takes live prices and order books.
Does the calculator count taxes and funding?
No. This is a spot trade: taxes depend on your country, and funding exists only on perpetual futures, which have their own calculator.
